ABOUT THE BAND
Paper Sun are a quartet of musicians with a penchant for psychedelic soundscapes, improvisation and just a touch of dub. Coming together in late 2016, the band vowed to contribute an entirely different sound to the Blue Mountains music scene, by performing extended sonic workouts utilising a blend of electronic tomfoolery and extended performance techniques. Paper Sun often voyage to the dark heart of psychedelia before emerging into light, taking their audiences on a sonic journey from one side of the musical universe to the other.
Formed around the nucleus of drummer Steve Gunning, bassist Mark Bradridge and guitarists Peter Long and Steve Waters, Paper Sun have recently been joined by synthesist and projectionist Jamie Rees, providing a visual feast for the eyes as well as the ears. The ongoing experimentation of Paper Sun guarantees a compelling and immersive experience for audience and band alike.

A GRATUITOUS GEAR SHOT? YEAH, WE LIKE GEAR
This is where Steve G can tell you all about the joy of maple drum shells, or why Steve W prefers old analogue guitar effects to get those wonderful wonky sounds. Pete likes pedals that sound like Mellotrons and old Leslie speaker cabs, and Mark plays, well... a Fender bass.
